5 Reasons Why A Small Business Should Hire A Photographer

Here are our top 5 reasons why a local small business should hire a photographer:

1.Business owners need terrific profile shots. Social media profiles like those on LinkedIn, Twitter or your Wordpress blog require profile headshots that tell people that you're both professional and approachable. The business owner's photo helps people to remember you and connect with you and the photographs can be used for your company business cards, sell sheets or brochures. If you have a business development director, the same goes for that person as well, as they are often the face of the company.

2.Prospects often research your company online. Often your customers or prospects are checking out your business online before they even call, or connecting with those who answer the phone and they don't always know or talk to the business owner. Having photos of your office team that your prospects or customers can find on your website or on your Facebook Fan page is important so that they can put a face with a name, or that they can see that your business is both serious and credible.

3.Accurately depict the size of your company. Recently, one of our clients almost didn't get called about a project because the prospect found some outdated data online that said his company had 2-4 employees. While my client did have 4 employees a few years ago, his company now employs nearly 20. Having updated photos of your company and your team every couple of years is important so that prospects can easily see that you have a business that is big enough to service their needs.

4.Keep your content fresh. In the age of social media and online content development, adding photos and images to your blog posts, your website and your Facebook Fan page keeps your content fresh and engaging. There is nothing more important in the world of online marketing than to continually keep your customers and prospects engaged with you and your brand. Yes, I said your brand. Not the brand of your franchise and not the brand of your manufacturer or association.

5.Developing your unique brand. Hiring a photographer to shoot photos of you, your building, your signage, your team, your work - or anything that defines your company - is part of building your business's unique brand and sets you apart from other local or national competition. And if you're a franchise owner, it helps to localize your business and sets you apart from similar franchises that may be in your area. And photo selections can easily be turned into slide shows and videos, even cool online banner ads, that can further define your brand in the online media space.

How To Market Your Company With 5 Simple Videos

Regardless of what type of company you have, or what type of product you’re selling, there are always online videos that can be used to up your marketing and sales. Here to help us is Producer/Director, Jon Hyatt. Jon is currently Producing/Directing a reality show in Boston called Making Moves.

“Every company can affordably increase marketing and sales with the help of online videos.” Hyatt says, “Nowadays more companies are starting to see the advantage to having online videos right on their website or Facebook pages.” Now, of course each company would want certain style video(s) catered to what they sell or who they are but there are certain style videos that can be used to help any company. Let’s take a look at Hyatt’s list of video’s companies can use to raise marketing and or sales.

Commercial

Most companies, especially smaller ones think a commercial is too expensive for them. I mean, you first need to hire someone who will come in and do the commercial but then normally you’d need to buy up air time on all the local television networks and that all adds up. Now more and more companies are seeing the advantage of social media, and online presence. You can showcase your commercial right on your website, or even your Facebook page. If you don’t have a Facebook page yet, I suggest you get one.

Bio Video

Let your client or customer see and get to know you before they even meet you. It’ll make your clients/customers much more comfortable with doing business with you rather than a stranger. Again, a video like this is perfect for your online presence.

Promotional/Awareness Video

This style video is similar to a commercial, but instead of say, .30 seconds this video is typically between 2-3 minutes. Really show your prospective clients/customers what it is you can offer them.

How To

Videos
should generally be kept short and sweet. You want to offer your client or customer a quick, simple way to do what you do but without giving away all your secrets. Enough to show them they’ll need your help to go any further than just the basics. Clients/customers can really relate if they have a better understanding of what it is you do, and how complicated it is.

Client Testimonials

Are great ways to showcase your reputation to future clients/customers without having to come out and tell them yourself. Getting a handful of your close clients to participate in a short video, saying how great your company and services were can go a long way in the online world.

Of course there are many, many different styles of videos that can help your company. These are just a few that almost every company can use and do. Depending on what industry you’re in or what services you offer there are a lot of videos that can be done to help increase sales and marketing for your company. Social media is changing the way we all do business and now online videos can be used as a form of marketing in replace of big money companies or strategies.

Why Web Video

Interactive, Tailored Video Is Key

By Naj Kidwai

Published: February 05, 2009
As the online video industry evolves, advertisers are constantly evaluating the most effective methods to successfully reach their desired audience and increase the breadth of their brand engagement. Yet despite their best efforts to innovate, agencies still defer to producing the same static, linear video creative that results in a very passive online experience for the consumer.
It's time for online brands, publishers and their agencies to abandon the outdated TV model of blasting out mass video messaging and deliver a more personalized online experience to their customers.
The industry needs a new approach to creative—one that provides agencies different options for narrative structures based on consumer feedback. The tools and technology exist, and the bandwidth is available, so agency creative executives need to take the leap of faith and start building ads that are more authentic, engaging and personalized for the individual consumer.
By re-evaluating the basic concept of content creation, agencies will benefit from more effective targeting capabilities that will translate to better conversion rates and increased return on investment from their campaigns.
Agencies use current targeting capabilities–such as geographical and behavioral methods–to deliver ads with more relevance, but they are still serving a linear ad to a mass audience with a one-size-fits-all approach.
But what if it were possible to involve the consumer in the creation of the ad? Make the online experience more dynamic and interactive. Give consumers control over the content they consume by asking for feedback about what content they want to watch or types of offers they want to receive. That brings targeting down to an individual level.
Some brands have already started to experiment with various forms of interactivity. Samsung's "Follow Your Instinct" campaign this past summer used the annotation feature on YouTube led consumers to choose from different content segments to watch throughout the ad. According to a recent survey, we may see more campaigns like this in the future. The PermissionTV 2008 Digital Marketing Survey, announced in December, found that nearly 60 percent of respondents consider interactive video experiences to be the next evolution for online video.
The future of online video ad creation lies in the ability to create thousands of different ad variations that can be assembled in real-time based on the expressed interests of each consumer. These personalized video campaigns can already be done today by segmenting and tagging video content during the initial campaign planning stages, and then assembling and delivering the ad to each consumer based on their preferences and user profile data.
The production process of a typical personalized video campaign consists of three basic steps:
Campaign Development: During the campaign planning stage, video clips are segmented, tagged and categorized based on the goals of the ad campaign.
Ad Creation: The video segments are assembled using a storyboard technology platform that creates thousands of different ad variations, which are personalized based on viewer interaction and user profile data. The platform enables contextually targeted ads based on a number of different profile variables, including geographic location, date/time, language or viewer input about what they want to watch.
Real-time Delivery: The technology instantly delivers a video ad that directly reflects the user's interests and behavior. Consumer reactions are measured for the advertiser and used to optimize future content.
Agencies that can leverage existing video assets or create new content to produce customized video experiences that better engage and relate to the individual viewer, will deliver much better conversion rates for the brand. Since consumers are engaging with content that is highly relevant at a time when they are involved in the buying process, personalized video campaigns can typically deliver double the conversion rates and 50 percent better brand awareness than static linear campaigns, while delivering a much higher ROI.
The industry needs a reality check. The current model of trying to turn a profit by monetizing linear video just isn't working. Brands, publishers and their agencies need to embrace the power of personalization and improved targeting to build more relevant consumer experiences and improve their online video ROI.
Naj Kidwai is CEO of Real Time Content, a leading provider of personalized video ad technology based in New York City.

SISTER COMPANIES MARCH FORTH IN 2011

SISTER COMPANIES MARCH FORTH IN 2011

Friendship, trust and moving forward for what you are most passionate about in life is what MF34 and FourTen Visuals founders have been striving for since high school, letting the world know that there still is a glimpse of hope for having fun in all aspects of life, focusing on your dreams and Marching Forth.

Carlsbad, California-- They Say “hard work pays off”. Well, who is they, and when does that backbreaking work actually pay off? For most of us living on the planet Earth, This is one of the mysterious questions we ponder over and over on a daily basis. Generally speaking, the idea of the happy destination is a time when we don’t have to work, have a ton of money and nice Cars. But is this really what life is all about? For the Owners of sister companies The March Forth and Fourten Visuals, the gold under the clay exterior has been found in life journey, a 3000 mile reunion and the “payoff of hard work”, being more than just a destination and dollar amount.

Under the grey economy, corporate monopolies and shallow views of materialism, 2 High School Friends from small town in Bel Air Maryland seem to have unknowingly stumbled upon one of the mysteries of life fueled by the idea of “Hard Work Pays off”. Since a cross country move from Bel Air, Maryland to Southern California and the start of The March Forth Company in 2003, Owner Wes Desoto has been spending his waking moments designing, planning, and breaking his back for an apparel concept of focusing on your dreams and moving forward for what you are most passionate about in life. After Countless dead ends, In 2005 after a unexpected relocation, childhood Friend Tim Kline came on board with the company to help with Sales and public relations. The original concept was to have fun, and help people in their respected journeys towards their hopes and dreams. The Sponsorship of young amateur athletes in BMX, Skate and Surf soon spawned into the creation of Team sports for the March Forth in where the idea behind helping Armature Athletes become pro seemed to take off far faster than expected. Wes and Tim started funding Action team sports out of their savings accounts and providing entry fees into tournaments and free apparel to further push the idea behind the The March Forth Company. With a Small Cannon GL, inadequate cameras, and just some creativity, they started to put together free photography and video for the young athletes to build their portfolios. In 2010 sponsored BMX rider Josh Hult unexpectedly won the Dew Tour BMX open in Chicago and shortly after, sponsored surfer Matthew Jensen became the WSA Men’s Shortboard Tour Champion. With the money won from the Dew Tour open, bmx rider Josh was able to pay off his house and car which were on the verge of foreclosure. “You don’t realize how financially tight it is for these young athletes, guess everything happens for a reason!” was the humble response from Wes when he was told about it after the Dew Tour Event.
After a Non-Profit campaign to Help Bmx rider Stephen Murray Stay Strong and March forth after a double back flip in 2008 that left the action sports star paralyzed, Wes and Tim decided to merge their expertise of Video, Photography, and graphic design into a Multi Media company with the concept of having all the visual needs for a small business in one company without outsourcing anything. “Video, Photography and Graphics is a must for most companies these days and It’s a pain, when you have to go to 50 different companies to get visual enhancements for your business. We like to keep it all In-house.” says Fourten Visuals owner Tim Kline. With the added expertise of years of doing their own logos, web design, graphics, video production and photography the Carlsbad based Creative Studio of FourTen Visuals was formed as a Sister Company to March Forth. “With all that we do, and have done over the years, we have learned how to make it easier for small businesses to succeed in their visual marketing and branding and at a reasonable price.” Says MF34 founder Wes Desoto. A simple reminder to focus on your dreams, seems to have made its way into 2011 and spawned an unrelentless amount of positive focus for the future of small businesses across Southern California. With both companies working side by side the and the unusual unlikelihood of High School Friends forming such influential businesses more than 3000 miles away from a small east coast town, seems to underscore the idea of Marching Forth Together in 2011.

Finding it hard to stay focused while having an empty pocket and struggling in the economic crisis we all have faced over the past years has been more than just a test of strength and will. It’s been a reminder that hard work does pay off, and the payoff is the journey we all get to live everyday knowing we have friends and family around to support us no matter what happens. The true payoff in life is having fun along all of our journeys. While you work hard through 2011, always Remember to focus on your dreams, move forward for what you are most passionate about in life, and against all odds……..MARCH FORTH IN 2011!

Uggg... *San Diego Video Companies (what a non creative market)

Wowwwwzers,

So..........Ever go on the internet and search video companies, or video production. It is a night mare on Google and bing. First, there are all of these sites that just link you to other sites, but want you to pay for their service. You have to pay......to pay for video! Unreal.

Then when you do finally make it to some companies that do video production, it is bitter sweet, without the sweet part! Yes, a bunch of sour apples. I found that about 75% of the companies just film and basic edit, and throw something toghether and charger you thousands of dollars. I know 16yr olds that can do a better job. Yea, if your filming a lecture they may work, but not anyone can just pick up a camera and make it look hollywood. And thats what people want to see. They want to view amazing Video that captivates them. One Lense Media in Los Angeles also does an Bang out Amazing JOB! But most companies are raping you for money, and then giving you a shitty video that does nothing for your company! Who do your trust? Us! Check out our website and just view the basic line up of videos we have on the site. These are bottom line videos (basic) and still look 500X better then our competitions!

San Diego Reader (got a good laugh)

OMG, I just got through The San Diego Reader. What an absolute dissapointment. Besides the lack of content and the Mess that it is, The Advertising is like "the meat market bar" for advertising. I have never in my life seen such uncreative advertising. Basically a 4 year old could make ads and put them in the reader. Whats the point. If you going to spend the money to advertise in a market with 1000's of other ad's..............why not put up something that is going to stand out! Something Creative, Clever and that markets and brands your company or product with at the highest level. Come-on folks. This is not rocket science. IF you want to advertise.........DO NOT.....let the reader to your ads for you. Please, Call us! We will put something together with your branding that looks like it belongs in GQ or Vogue magazine!

Go to our website and just look around. Thats all I ask, and if your interested, give us a call!
